[5:32]  ² sn Those who obey. The implication, of course, is that the leadership is disobeying God.

[13:26]  ³ tn Grk “Men brothers,” but this is both awkward and unnecessary in English.

[13:26]  ⁴ tn Grk “sons”

[13:26]  ⁵ tn Or “race.”

[13:26]  ⁶ tn Grk “and those among you who fear God,” but this is practically a technical term for the category called God-fearers, Gentiles who worshiped the God of Israel and in many cases kept the Mosaic law, but did not take the final step of circumcision necessary to become a proselyte to Judaism. See further K. G. Kuhn, TDNT 6:732-34, 743-44. Note how Paul includes God-fearing Gentiles as recipients of this promise.

[15:8]  ⁸ sn The expression who knows the heart means “who knows what people think.”

[15:8]  ⁹ tn Or “has borne witness.”

[15:8]  ¹⁰ sn By giving them…just as he did to us. The allusion is to the events of Acts 10-11, esp. 10:44-48 and Peter’s remarks in 11:15-18.
